Class 6 Missouri High School Football 2nd round predictions

I had a pretty good week last week, missing one of the sixteen matchups but the teams are much more competitive this week.  I actually had 7th seed Blue Springs South ranked 9 points better than Troy but picked Troy, based on MSHSAA seedings.  Ouch!  Gotta believe my own algorithm.

Here's my outlook for the 2nd round, based on my ratings, not the league:

1 Christian Brothers College by 36
4 Hazelwood West
No  one touches CBC.  This one is over at half-time when the CBC JV gets playing time.
3 Pattonville
2 DeSmet by 10
De Smet is too tough for Pattonville although the Pirates will hang tough until the 4th quarter.
1 Rock Bridge by 5
4 Francis Howell
Rock Bridge ekes by an improving Francis Howell team that is peaking at the right time.
3 Blue Springs by 14
2 Troy Buchanan Blue Springs South
Blue Springs South surprised Troy but Blue Springs won't need a wake-up call, winning by 2TDs.
1 Eureka by 13
4 Kirkwood
Kirkwood played Eureka tough at home but has to play on the Wildcats turf.  Eureka squeeks by again.
3 Lindbergh by 6
2 Joplin
Joplin is the higher seed by Lindbergh has continued to play hard-nosed football and wins this at Joplin.
1 Lee's Summit West
4 Liberty by 2
Flip a coin.  Two very comparable teams.  Liberty by 2 points in a thriller.
3 Rockhurst by 3
2 Lee's Summit North
Rockhurst continues to build momentum and pushes by a strong Lee's Summit North team by a FG.

Missouri High School Football Playoff Predictions 11212018

I haven't paid much attention to the Missouri high school football play-offs as the high school basketball season is starting to ramp up, along with the fact that this new football blog has not had much of a following. So, here are my semi-final and championship picks for each class (the champion is listed in Bold): Class Six CBC (135) over Rockhurst (119) by 16 CBC is the class of all football teams and should not have any problems with a great Rockhurst team. Class Five Vianney (110) over Carthage (103) by 7 Ft Osage (103) over Battle (104) by 1 Vianney over Fort Osage by 7 Battle has to travel to Fort Osage but neither team will give Vianney much of a hassle in the finale. 2018 Missouri State High School Football Rankings by Class

Here are my first rankings for 2018 Missouri State High School Football Rankings by Class. There are 32 class 6 teams with CBC on top of that list.  De Smet, Rock Bridge, Eureka and Kirkwood look like the cream of the largest school classification. Vianney leads the 42 team class 5 school teams with possible challenges from Ft. Zumwalt West, Jackson and Staley. Classes 4, 3, 2 and 1 all have 64 teams with Webb City, Maryville, Lutheran North and Hayti the prohibitive favorites in those divisions respectively. These rankings are based on three games so I would expect that there will be some upheaval in the rankings after a few more games. Enjoy.
