2019 Missouri High School Football Ranking

I haven't paid much attention to the Missouri high school football play-offs as the high school basketball season is starting to ramp up, along with the fact that this new football blog has not had much of a following. So, here are my semi-final and championship picks for each class (the champion is listed in Bold): Class Six CBC (135) over Rockhurst (119) by 16 CBC is the class of all football teams and should not have any problems with a great Rockhurst team. Class Five Vianney (110) over Carthage (103) by 7 Ft Osage (103) over Battle (104) by 1 Vianney over Fort Osage by 7 Battle has to travel to Fort Osage but neither team will give Vianney much of a hassle in the finale. I had a pretty good week last week, missing one of the sixteen matchups but the teams are much more competitive this week.  I actually had 7th seed Blue Springs South ranked 9 points better than Troy but picked Troy, based on MSHSAA seedings.  Ouch!  Gotta believe my own algorithm. The Class 5 Missouri State High School Football playoffs are a somewhat complicated play-in process with 5 or 6 teams in each district.  For districts with 5 teams, the bottom two teams play off this coming week and the top three get a week off.  For districts with 6 teams, the top two teams get a week off and the 3-6 seeds play. My ratings come up quite a bit different from the MSHSAA rankings and seedings.  The league has Fort Zumwalt rated the top class 5 team with Jackson, Fox and Staley following.  In fact, they rate Fox a few hundredths behind Jackson when I think Jackson is a 12 point favorite.  I have not rated FZN above a 105 rating all season.  Jackson should beat them by 16 if they meet in a quarterfinal game.  I actually would see Battle beating FZN before one of them has to play this powerhouse Jackson team.
